What is the Adrenal Quartet?

How does the Adrenal Quartet work?

The adrenal glands must respond to every stress experienced by producing hormones that enable the body to react to the stressor and maintain life-preserving homeostasis during and after the stress. Adrenal hormones affect every cell and system in the body, and so healthy adrenals and adrenal hormone production are essential to the overall good health as well as the ability to handle stress. The Adrenal Quartet™ supplements incorporate key nutrients, botanicals and other natural ingredients formulated to effectively support the health and optimal function of the adrenals and other glands involved in the stress response.* The four products provide significant benefits individually; however, the Adrenal Quartet™ works best during adrenal fatigue when all four are taken together according to the guidelines in Dr. Wilson’s Program for Adrenal Fatigue and Stress.* Each of the supplements provides different aspects of support that, taken together, work synergistically to nourish and fortify healthy adrenal structure, replenish adrenal reserves, promote balanced adrenal function, and supply essential nutrients for adrenal hormone production.

Does the Adrenal Quartet contain any hormones or steroids?

No. The glandular tissues used in Adrenal Rebuilder have been processed to remove hormones and steroids (a type of adrenal hormone). The four expertly formulated supplements in the Adrenal Quartet provide nutrients, plant extracts and natural building blocks that support optimal adrenal structure and function so that the adrenal glands themselves can produce healthy amounts of the adrenal hormones as they are needed.*

Does the Adrenal Quartet contain natural or synthetic stimulants?

No. We do not use any natural or synthetic stimulants in the Adrenal Quartet formulas. They do not contain caffeine, cola, Gotu Kola, ephedra, pseudoephedra, Dexedrine, or any other agents that falsely stimulate the body while actually depleting it with continued use. Stimulants increase or drive a gland’s activity, causing it to overwork. People may feel temporarily better when using a stimulant, but it eventually wears the adrenal glands down.* The Adrenal Quartet supplements are designed to build, help invigorate and support healthy structure and function in the glands and tissues affected by stress and to promote the overall wellness.* Using any kind of stimulant, natural or synthetic, would be counter to our goal of providing the most effective natural products to help create optimum health.*

Is the Adrenal Quartet prion free?

Yes. Prions are the micro-organisms responsible for "mad cow disease," also known as Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis (BSE). The only animal source ingredients in the Adrenal Quartet are in Adrenal Rebuilder and those are all from porcine (hog) sources. Prions have never been found in pork. So be assured that the Adrenal Quartet contains no prions.*

How quickly will the Adrenal Quartet begin to work?

The Adrenal Quartet begins to work right away but people typically notice a difference within the first few weeks of regularly taking the supplements.* We have had some amazing stories and have found that while some people respond within a few days, others see results only after sticking with it for two to three months or sometimes even longer.* Don’t be discouraged if results are slow to appear – many people have gone through this program and experienced night-and-day changes in how they feel, but only started to really notice them after six months or more of faithfully following Dr. Wilson’s Program for Adrenal Fatigue and Stress.* It is very important to give the Adrenal Quartet enough time to do the deep replenishing it is capable of.* It took time to become for the adrenals to become fatigued from stress and it will take time to truly reinvigorate them.* Other factors that may affect how quickly people respond are lifestyle, adrenal resiliency and overall health.*

How should the Adrenal Quartet be taken?

If people are experiencing adrenal fatigue, burnout or any kind of depleted adrenal function, the Adrenal Quartet™ works best when used together as suggested in Dr. Wilson’s Program for Adrenal Fatigue and Stress.*

Alternatively, follow the suggested general guidelines below:

Super Adrenal Stress Formula – Take 1 caplet 3-5 times a day (1 upon rising, 1 at noon and 1 before bed; 1 additional caplet may be taken up to 2 times throughout the day, if desired.

Adrenal Rebuilder – Take 1 caplet 3-6 times a day (1 upon rising, 1 at noon and 1 before bed; 1 additional caplet may be taken up to 3 times throughout the day, if desired).

Adrenal C Formula – Take 1 caplet 3-6 times a day (1 upon rising, 1 at noon and 1 before bed; 1 additional caplet may be taken up to 3 times throughout the day, if desired).

Herbal Adrenal Support Formula OR Herbal HPA – Take 10-15 drops in juice or water 2-4 times a day, preferably between meals or on an empty stomach (10-15 drops upon rising and 10-15 before bed; 10 may also be taken at noon and/or mid-afternoon, if desired).

How long should the Adrenal Quartet be taken?

For optimum results follow the guidelines in Dr. Wilson’s Program for Adrenal Fatigue and Stress.* Because these unique formulas are designed to replenish the body’s own natural health building processes at a deeply restorative level, it is very important to give them adequate time to work.* We suggest continuing for a minimum of six months to two years before starting the supplement reduction schedule outlined in the program.* The carefully laid out reduction schedule is gradual and requires reducing or eliminating the Adrenal Quartet supplements one at a time and continuing on the reduced regimen for three weeks before proceeding to the next step.* This helps ensure that people will continue to feel good and maintain the energy as people reach the point doing without the supplements.* Lifestyle is an important factor in adrenal health and stress hardiness. If the life is stressful and other aspects of the lifestyle, like diet and sleep habits, do not optimally support strong adrenal function, we suggest continuing to take the Adrenal Quartet according to the program during times when the life has significant stress.* Use how people feel as a guide to when they might be ready to begin this reduction schedule – there is no need to rush.*

Does the Adrenal Quartet lose its effectiveness with continued use?

No.* The Quartet supplements are designed to replenish, enhance, strengthen and support body processes with nutrients the body needs, natural building blocks it can use every day and herbs that continue to help balance the endocrine system, especially when the life is stressful.*

Can too much of the Adrenal Quartet be taken?

Although the products in the Adrenal Quartet contain only nutrients and other natural ingredients, and have been carefully formulated to eliminate any possible adverse reactions, it is best to take them as directed. The following tips apply to the specified Adrenal Quartet supplement:

Super Adrenal Stress Formula – If people consume too much, the B vitamins in it may make them feel a little "over amped" or interrupt their sleep.* Simply decreasing the amount you take usually resolves that hyper feeling, and avoiding taking it after 6 PM as well as decreasing the daily intake usually restores restful sleep.*

Herbal Adrenal Support Formula contains licorice because of its ability to support adrenal health.* There have been reports of licorice root increasing blood pressure in some hypertensive subjects. Although people experiencing adrenal fatigue more commonly have low blood pressure, if you are hypertensive or have borderline high blood pressure, it is best to keep monitoring the blood pressure and/or switch to Herbal HPA, our licorice-free herbal adrenal support supplement.* The herbs in both Herbal Adrenal Support Formula and Herbal HPA are adaptogenic and help balance rather than drive or over-stimulate the adrenal glands.*

Adrenal Rebuilder contains nutritive glandular concentrates without hormones; therefore, to our knowledge, taking more than the recommended amount has no direct adverse effect on the body.* However, taking more than about twelve caplets a day probably will not increase its effectiveness.* Although it is not intended to be a supplement for animals, we have had calls from people whose dogs have eaten an entire bottle of Adrenal Rebuilder without any adverse effects.

Adrenal C Formula optimizes vitamin C utilization, so less needs to be taken compared to other vitamin C supplements.* Therefore, the typical loose bowel associated with excess vitamin C consumption rarely occurs with Adrenal C Formula.* If this does happen, simply decrease daily intake and this harmless condition should clear up within one to two days.* Individual requirements for vitamin C vary greatly. Some people do best with several grams of vitamin C while others need considerably less.*
